Sammy Blair, Director

Sammy Blair is a passionate advocate for sustainable, just, and community-driven food systems. She holds a Master of Science in Integrated Studies in Land and Food Systems from the University of British Columbia, where her research focused on school farms and food literacy. Sammy brings diverse experience across the food system—including food security, gleaning, waste management, farming, education, and research.

She has worked across diverse sectors and geographies, from coordinating regional food hubs and supporting Indigenous food sovereignty projects to managing food recovery systems and leading food systems studies. As Food Security Manager for the Land to Table Network, Sammy fosters collaboration among producers, institutions, businesses, local governments, and nonprofits. She also contributes to provincial resource development, co-authoring tools such as the Growing School Farms toolkit for Farm to School BC and the Feed BC Guide to Sourcing B.C. Food in K–12 School Food Programs.

Since moving to Revelstoke in 2022, Sammy has served on the Local Food Initiative board and remains active in both local and provincial food system planning, education, and advocacy. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, hiking, skiing, cooking, and spending time outdoors with friends and family.
