Fiona Cameron, Director
Fiona has worked across the food industry in BC—from spending summers on a family owned veggie farm, to working in food service, and more recently, managing marketing and communications efforts for CPG brands, grocery, and institutional food service. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Simon Fraser University and has returned to her old stomping grounds as a Digital Content and Community Engagement Manager for the SFU Food Department. Recent projects include collaborating on the development of an Indigenous food program called Rooted and championing local food education in the SFU Dining Commons. Fiona believes that the more people are connected to their food, the more they care about their environment and others in it. That belief drives her passion for connecting people to their food systems through engagement initiatives and storytelling. In her free time you might find Fiona creating new recipes in her kitchen, trying to fit more plants in her urban garden, or working with clay at the local pottery studio.
