Finlay Burrage
Finlay grew up in Vancouver, BC and has always loved storytelling through writing and visual media. He became interested in food systems and agriculture after watching his parents learn about permaculture and transform the backyard of their home from a lifeless square of asphalt into an abundant and biodiverse garden. He has spent a season with his hands in the soil at a small-scale organic market garden in Yarrow, BC, and worked to help support community food security in Nelson, BC. He has a BA from the University of the Fraser Valley in Anthropology and Sociology, with much of his degree focused on food systems and community development. He has also worked as a photographer and filmmaker for a number of years. In his spare time, Finlay loves to spend time outdoors, whether hiking up or skiing down a mountain, jumping in cold water, camping with friends, or riding his bike.
