Skipper Otto Community Supported Fishery

Skipper Otto Community Supported Fishery

Applying the CSA model to a different industry, Skipper Otto is a Community Supported Fishery. Before the fishing season begins, members purchase a share of the catch and pledge to eat with the ecosystem, sharing the risk of each fishing cycle with BC fishing families who only catch what is abundant and sustainable each season. This risk-sharing model ensures that small-scale independent harvesters have a guaranteed market for their catch. Members receive wild, sustainable, fishermen-direct seafood while protecting a traditional way of life in BC’s coastal and Indigenous communities. Join for as little as $100, and enjoy delicious local seafood such as salmon, halibut, sablefish, spot prawns, albacore tuna and more!
