In the past decade, British Columbian local food lovers have been treated to an ever-increasing variety of artisan cheeses. Today in BC there are 15 different cheese manufacturers, more than in any other western Canadian province. However, the volume of European cheese imported is expected to double once Canada’s new EU free trade deal comes to fruition and Canadian cheese manufacturers are somewhat nervous that these increased imports will take a bite out of their market.
