This business planning template has been assembled for the Community Farms Program by a farmer with the small farmer in mind. It is a simple and personal exercise that leads a new or seasoned farmer into a farming venture.
All aspects of local marketing, farm operations, and financial documentation are covered. Separate sections address values, goals, and interpersonal issues – all important factors in a small enterprise.
By completing this business planning template, a farmer will have assembled a powerful planning and communication tool.
We encourage the use of this information and request that FFCF be credited.
The Community Farms Program (CFP) is a joint venture between FarmFolk CityFolk Society (FFCF) and The Land Conservancy of British Columbia (TLC). The goal of the Community Farms Program is to actively secure farmland for present and future food production. We bring together landowners, farmers, local communities, and resources to develop and support community farm models in BC.
We would like to acknowledge and thank the Minnesota Institute for Sustainable Agriculture for leading the way in this field.
