Earlier this year, we put out a call to community farms to apply for the Community Farm Endowment Fund (CFEF), and we received many responses.
The Community Farm Alliance (CFA) is made up of Alan Carpenter, Hannah Wittman, Susan Davidson, and a representative from FarmFolk CityFolk, who was our Interim Executive Director this year. The CFA sets the criteria for the Community Farm Endowment Fund (CFEF), reviews the Letters of Interest, makes the shortlist of applications, and selects the final community farms that will receive grants. Starting in the fall of 2025, the CFA revised the process to ensure as many community farms in BC as possible were aware of the grant opportunity. We are pleased to inform the community that five organizations have been awarded funds, and their projects are underway. The recipients include:
- A Rocha Farm, Surrey
- Farmers on 57th, Vancouver
- Horse Lake Community Farm, Lone Butte
- Linnaea Farm, Mansons Landing
- ntámłqən Community Garden and Food Hub, Cawston
