Richmond is a city where food, culture, and sustainability go hand in hand. This summer, Tourism Richmond continues its tradition of championing local producers and eco-friendly initiatives by returning as the presenting sponsor for the Metro Vancouver Feast of Fields. This annual event brings together chefs, farmers, and food lovers to celebrate fresh, sustainable ingredients in a unique farm-to-table experience.
When asked what motivated Tourism Richmond to return as the presenting sponsor, the answer was clear:
“This event aligns with our values by celebrating local food, sustainability, and community partnerships—key pillars of our work in promoting Richmond as a vibrant, responsible destination.”

Tourism Richmond plays an active role in connecting visitors and residents with local food producers while promoting sustainable food systems.
“Whenever possible, we prioritize working with Richmond-based providers to support our community and reduce environmental impact. In our seasonal campaigns like Dine About during Spot Prawn season, we actively encourage stakeholders to collaborate with local fishers, showcasing the freshest seasonal ingredients right from our doorstep.

We also partner with events like Feast of Fields, which celebrate and elevate local dining experiences. These collaborations are part of our broader efforts to promote events that highlight Richmond’s vibrant culinary scene and reinforce our commitment to sustainability and community engagement.”
Tourism Richmond is proud of its environmental leadership and collaborative efforts to reduce its footprint.
“Internally, we are proud to be BC Green Business Certified and actively work to measure and offset our carbon footprint each year.
In addition, our Regenerative Tourism Grant Program helps connect and support our stakeholders on their regenerative journeys. Since many of our partners—and much of the tourism industry—are rooted in food and beverage, we provide funding for food waste diversion initiatives such as BetterTable and La Tablée des Chefs, which help reduce environmental impact while supporting community well-being.”
When asked what events they recommend attending this summer, they said:
“Feast of Fields of course! And great events like the Garlic Festival and the Maritime Festival are can’t miss cultural Richmond experiences.”
