Love Food Hate Waste Canada
This national initiative provides resources and tips for individuals and businesses to reduce food waste, and the province has partnered with them to support local communities.
Sources Community Resource Centres
Sources Food Hub provides education on food waste reduction and coordinates food rescue and redistribution programs, including gleaning and delivering food to organizations serving marginalized families.
Metro Vancouver
Metro Vancouver provides resources and information for food scraps recycling, including posters for businesses and residents.

Food Stash Foundation
This registered charity collects surplus food from grocery stores and delivers it to various charities and nonprofits across Vancouver, as well as providing Rescued Food Boxes to households and running a weekly food market.
Second Harvest
Second Harvest is Canada’s largest food rescue charitable organization. Second Harvest works with thousands of food businesses from across the supply chain to reduce the amount of edible food going to waste. This model helps redirect surplus food to thousands of charities and non-profits throughout BC and across Canada.
ReFood
Refood delivers surplus food from grocery stores to food-insecure communities in BC.
Vancouver Food Runners
This organization uses app technology and volunteer drivers to deliver surplus food to nonprofits across Metro Vancouver.
FoodMesh
FoodMesh connects businesses with charities, ensuring surplus food is redirected to address food insecurity in Metro Vancouver.
ReFeed Farms
ReFeed Farms partners with businesses to rescue food that would otherwise go to waste.
Flashfood
Flashfood, a popular anti-waste app, allows businesses to sell surplus food at a reduced price, preventing it from going to waste, according to Still Good Foods and CBC.
Seed to Food Program
Our Seed to Food program connects ecological seed production with regenerative farming and climate adaptation while also helping reduce food insecurity and food waste. In collaboration with community partners, the program redistributes food by-products from public Research and Education Seed Farm trials to those in need.
