Lohbrunner Community Farm: A New Season of Opportunities
In 2020 and early 2021, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs got a lot of well deserved hype. Due to the pandemic that was declared last March, many people suddenly realised a shorter supply chain, and being able to know exactly where their food came from was a really desirable thing! This led to a surge in interest in CSA programs as people sought a way to get healthy, local, and tasty food, maybe without even going to a grocery store.
One of the market farms at Lohbrunner Community Farm, Vitality Farm, will continue to run its popular CSA program in 2021. If you live in the Victoria/Western Communities area and are looking for a way to connect more closely with your food supply and farmer, we encourage you to check out Vitality Farm’s offerings.
Our other market farm, Sweet Acres Farm, is focusing on growing a smaller variety of crops, particularly storage crops, which will be offered for bulk sale to interested customers come late summer into the fall. If you are interested in learning how to purchase these crops when available, please visit their website for more information.
In addition, Sweet Acres Farm will be moving on to new farming adventures after this year and so Lohbrunner Community Farm has a two-acre parcel of land for lease to a new, passionate, community-minded farmer beginning in 2022. If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity we encourage you to check out the land listing online.
